We are pleased to announce the seventh Tara Court Cup golf competition. This is a 2 day individual stableford competition taking place at 2 venues – Tuesday 11th February at Pattana and Thursday 13th February at Burapha.

The competition winner will be presented with the Tara Court Cup at the sumptuous prize giving buffet on Thursday 19th February in O’Gara’s bar and grill. The winner will also receive a golf holiday at Tara Court including 7 nights stay in a studio room and a round of golf. There will also be various other prizes that will be announced on the day Handicap proof is required prior to entry and handicaps will be adjusted by the handicap committee following the first round.

The order of play for day one will be posted in O’Gara’s Bar and Grill on Sunday 9th February and for day two on Wednesday 12th February after the first round scores have been announced.

Tuesday 11th February – Pattana Golf Club

Transport will depart Tara Court at 10:15 for an 11:52 tee time. Transport will return at 19:00 approx.

Thursday 13th February – Burapha Golf Club

Transport will depart Tara Court at 08:30 for a 09:58 tee time. Transport will return at 18:00 approx. The buffet will be served in O’Gara’s Bar and Grill at 19:30 followed by the prize giving.

The entry fee for the competition is 4,900 baht.

This includes green fees, caddy fees and carts at both courses, a souvenir polo shirt and the prize giving buffet. Transport is 300 baht per day extra – please book transport in advance. The fees must be paid in full before the competition starts. Please pay this entry fee to either Solar Golf or Tara Court front desk and enter your name and other details on the entry sheet. The 12th Solar Golf Ryder Cup competition will take place at St. Andrews 2000 (4 ball and Scramble) on Wednesday 6th November and Burapha Golf Club (singles) on Friday 8th November. This historic event sees USA with 6 victories to Europe 4 with 1 draw. Europe really need to catch up this year.

Programme

Sunday 3rd November – Registration evening – Secrets Nightclub. You can register and pay between 8pm and 10pm.

Monday 4th November – Practice round at Burapha.

Wednesday 6th November – Ryder Cup Day One at St. Andrews 2000. 1 tee start at 10.00 am. 9 holes four ball and 9 holes Texas scramble – 2 player teams.

Friday 8th November – Ryder Cup Day Two at Burapha. 2 way start at 10.30am. 18 holes singles competition played in groups of 4. 2 x 9 holes matches will be played with the opponents switching after 9 holes.

A celebration party will take place at Burapha Golf Club right after the golf with a pig roast and poolside buffet. We will lay on a barrel of beer and lots of food around 17.00 when everyone has showered and changed. The trophy presentation will take place later in the evening and will continue long into the night.

Cost per player 6,900 baht includes 2 green fees caddy fees and carts, team polo shirt, transport between central Pattaya and golf course, buffet with soft drinks and beer at Burapha Golf Club. Despite increases in the golf course charges, we have decided to keep the price at the same level as 2012. I am hoping to get the support of some sponsors to offset the increases.

This year we will be doing a tour to Bangkok after the Ryder Cup and Misty’s Open from 12th November until 15th November.

We will be staying at the 5* AETAS Lumpini in Bangkok for 3 nights and playing the following Golf Courses:

• Lam Luk Ka Country Club (13th Nov) – a top quality course with a very tough layout. Club selection is vital at this course as it is full of tough dog-leg holes.
• Riverdale Country Club (14th Nov) – one of Bangkok’s finest Golf Courses with plenty of elevation changes (quite rare in Bangkok) and the second shot is king here – it can make or break your round.
• Royal Lakeside Country Club (15th Nov) – as the name suggests, this course is full of tricky holes along the waterside. Shot selection is very important at this Golf Course to the South of Bangkok.

We will be leaving from Pattaya but can give rates from other destinations as well as rates for Hotel, Golf, Caddies and transfers to/from the hotel and Golf Course. Please let us know when booking about your requirements.

We are delighted to announce that a party will take place at Burapha Golf Club right after the golf on Friday with a pig roast and poolside buffet. We had such a great time after the final round in 2011 that it seems a shame to lose the party atmosphere by moving on to a restaurant. We will lay on a barrel of beer and lots of food around 1700 when everyone has showered and changed. The trophy presentation will take place in FLB Bar later in the evening and will continue long into the night.

The price will be held at 2011 level – 6,900 baht per person for the package of 2 rounds, caddies, carts, coach transport, buffet (inc. 1 barrel of beer) and a souvenir shirt for each player.
