First we stop at the Floating Market, which is a very unique Thailand experience with sellers piling their boats high with merchandise including fresh fruits, vegetables and gifts. We visit the original Floating Market of the world called “DAMNEON SADUAK”, where almost everything can be bought or sold and we see the life of people living by the canal selling their goods.

We then proceed to the Royal Thai Handicraft Factory where we see the skillful craftsmanship of teak wood carvers. The final visit of the day is to the grand palace in Bangkok, which acts as the official residence of the royal family of Thailand.

River Kwai excursions (2 days)

We leave your location in the early morning with the first stop at a coconut sugar producer then the original “Floating Market” at “Damnoen Saduak” just outside Bangkok where almost anything can be bought and sold. Then we take a long tail boat to go along the river and see the life of the locals. Lunch is at Kanchanaburi (city of the River Kwai) where we also visit the “Jeath” a World War 2 Museum and the famous bridge over the river Kwai.

After leaving the town we travel another 80 kms towards the jungle near to Burma to stay at the Sai Yoke floating teakwood raft hotel on the river. This is the real highlight of the trip, the rooms are clean and cozy and with no electricity, the lighting is by oil lamps which adds to the atmosphere. Before sundown the restaurant raft is towed upstream to be moored partly under a waterfall, where it is possible to take a high pressure shower. On the second day after breakfast we explore the River Kwai by boat and after lunch we board a train for a stunning journey along “Death Railway” (so named because around 100,000 POW’s and Asian labour died building it). Next we stop at the War Cemetery before returning.

This excursion is our most popular and most memorable. In less than 48 hours you can experience so much of Thailand, its culture and the people. The River Kwai will remain in your memory always.
